Game of thrones arrangement with Caustic file to download

5/24/2015

Posting this I am sure that there is plenty Game of thrones fans reading this.

It is theme song made as an orchestral arrangement in Caustic and there is the Caustic file to download as well. Making it great for remixing or to impress any fan out there pretending that it is you that is composing the theme on your device when they pass by. Ha ha
Can not post the track or the file directly here as I have not asked for permission to do so and do not want to wait as that could be a long time with my limited access to high speed internet and waiting for the answer etc and in the end it may get forgotten and not posted at all.
I am sure though that the creator would not mind as people are normally friendly.
It is mighty well done so go here and take listen and download the file:

Failing hard drive sounds

5/24/2015

Picture
The sounds recorded on this website is from a company that specializes in recovering data from hard drives and they have made a fair amount of recordings of how the hard drives sounds like before they fully leave all functionality behind.
Recording by brand and with explanation of what is the problem.
So it is not a sample website and they never thought that it was going to be used for music or sound manipulation etc. meaning that you would have to record them into something else or use some kind of software to capture the sounds. It is worth it if you are into chiptune or just digital noise. Different and interesting source for your sampler!

Seems like this could be something for helping learning songs from recordings with some handy tools and the frequency analyzer seems to work good.
Better see the video and see how it works.

PlayStore info:

MusicTrans is a powerful learning tool for playing any song. Take your favorite instrument, open your song and start learning it at your own pace.Load any song on MusicTrans, slow it down, repeat a section, remove the vocals, amplify the bass or guitar. You can do anything you need to listen all the details on that song.

"MusicTrans is a wonderful app that makes it simple, effective and time-efficient to create transcriptions of your favorite music" (AndroidAppsReviews.com)

MusicTrans is the only app that will show you a hint of the notes being played in realtime. Without touching any control, MusicTrans will give you a graphical view of what notes are being played. An intermediate player can easily get the basic chords just by looking at the screen, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! From there you can start using the different sound processing techniques included in MusicTrans to literally see what is being heard.

- If you want to give it a try for FREE, download MusicTrans Lite : http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xtvapps.musictrans.lite

- Are you a MusicTrans addict? Download MusicTrans for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from http://www.musictransapp.com

For the best experience, we recommend you to use MusicTrans with earphones.

Main Features:

* Tempo reduction with pitch locking down to 25% of the original speed.
* Realtime note suggestions from what exactly you are listening at any time
* Voice reduction (*) with bandpass filter. Don't lose other details like the bass or other bass sounds.
* Listen to an specific audio channel with the panning control
* Powerful 10 band equalizer to adjust each frequency range with precision
* Loop marks for repeating any part

(*) Voice reduction depends on how each song has been recorded. It will affect all the instruments recorded in the central channel.

Play Store info:

oscHook plots device sensor measurements and sends them in form of OSC messages.Supported are: accelerometer, gravity, light, linear acceleration, GPS movement, proximity, compass orientation and signal strength of the four closest Wifi networks. It is possible to configure the OSC address names, the timing and the IP / port of the receiver.

oscHook periodically measures the all these sensor data and generates OSC messages. You can receive these OSC messages with various kinds of musical devices, or with a computer. Check out our demo how to receive OSC messages and process them to control a MIDI device with Max4Live at http://hollyhook.de/wp/max4live-patch-makes-midi-out-of-oschook-data. Take it as a starting point to realize your own ideas!

You have questions how to use oscHook? Or how to interprete the measurements? Or cool ideas of new features?

Can see some people get very excited about this.

Play Store info-

midiHook plots device and wearable sensor measurements. Use midiHook together with the companion VST plugin to create MIDI controller messages on the PC with the measurements as values.
Supported sensors of both mobile and wearable: accelerometer, gravity, light, linear acceleration. Sensors on mobile only: Light, GPS distances from starting point, proximity, compass orientation.

If you have an Android wearable, midiHook generates also MIDI out of the measured heartrate.

It is possible to configure the Midi controller numbers, the timing and the IP / port of the PC running the midihook VST plugin. It is also possible to scale the measurements by defining upper and lower range values. The range is mapped to 0..127 midi values.

Run the plugin in your favorite DAW and map the output to any MIDI port of the PC. Download the free VST plugin at http://hollyhook.de/releases.

You have questions how to use midiHook? How to interpret the measurements? Or cool ideas of new features? Get in contact with us at http://hollyhook.de/midihook-support. Bug reports are very welcome!

Beautiful Crime (Remake with uFXloops) made by developer

Do not post much music anymore but always think that it is interesting when it is the developer that made the music.
Here is the YouTube description:
I produced this Instrumental Remake of the Daredevil Title Beautiful Crime by Grayson Sanders (Tamer) as a showcase for uFXloops and to express my feelings for this epic song. This version has been produced from the first note to the final production on a Samsung Galaxy S4 with uFXloops. The only post processing was to convert it to mp3 from ogg.

Attention! Android with velocity based sampler instruments!!!

5/11/2015

Picture
Some time ago a SunVox user under the name of WaxingAndWaning started to post links to XI instruments to use in the SunVox sampler but instead of one velocity layer there is five of them but each in a separate sampler making it possible to program different velocity hits of the instruments. This is a good thing but not fully convenient to have five instruments and to program them in different tracks.
After a couple of posts another user- iaon took one of the instruments and packed it up into one metamodule with all the velocities mapped out in one instrument.
This sounds like a small thing but it is now one of the hidden great music apps for Android and this could have been big news if somebody released just this aspect of SunVox as a standalone application.
Because it means that there is now possible on Android to do fully professional sample instruments. It is also possible to use modules inside the metamodule to make round robin hits to if so desired! Admittedly it is a bit of work. But to do the velocity based instruments using iaon's module as blueprint it is easy, and maybe start to make WaxingAndWaning's other XI instruments into one metamodule as well and of course to start to make your own velocity based sample instruments.
If somebody had the energy and time it could be of financial interest to make some more advanced SunVox sample instruments to sell?

This is iaons explanation but would recommend to download it and take a look inside to fully grasp what is going on...

So here's the MetaModule containing the five JRhodes XIs. Each one is triggered in about a fifth of the velocity range:

67-80
4E-66
34-4D
1A-33
00-19

You can always change these by editing the MM, resetting the Velocity curves on the MultiSynths for each XI and removing all the unwanted input velocities for each one, making sure every value plays exactly one of them.

The MM has volume controllers for the individual XIs that can be adjusted to refine the transitions between them. An easy way to check these is to play the MM from a MultiSynth and repeatedly play a note or a chord while changing the Velocity slider (standard transitions at values 52-104-156-206).

To use this as a template for other instruments, replace the samplers (copy/delete MultiSynths and set their ranges if more/less are needed) and make sure the user defined controllers still refer correctly.

If you go to the Download page you will find the iaon sample instrument and there is access to the other WaxingAndWaning instruments as well-

Guess it does not cost anything as a developer to take a look what is promised in this Audio SDK? It is in some circumstances for free to use-

We draw a distinction between “app store” apps and embedded applications. For the former, Superpowered is free. If you are building the latter, please contact us.
