This is a very good initiative and hope it grows to something big!
So read about it and then go out and make your own film and of course your own soundtrack also made on mobile devices! http://critics-associated.com/features/new-film-festival-levels-playing-field/ http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/http://www.iquilezles.org/www/index.htm

Maybe it is something that I missed and please someone prove me wrong and send me some music that is half decent even if it is just 20 seconds or so made with Geometric music... musicalandroid@yahoo.com Anyway here is three more websites talking / mention it and one of them being Wired plus a mention on CDM which are a pretty big deal for a half assed app! http://www.wired.com/2014/08/a-clever-app-that-lets-you-make-music-with-shapes/ http://createdigitalmusic.com/2014/08/quicker-interfaces-make-sound-widely-used-apps-geometric-music-waved/ http://nymusictech.com/geometric-music-app-beats-with-shapes/ It is for free and without publicity so if you are curious: Geometric Music Intermorphic release this Tikl pack to use for Mixtikl for free: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Morphing Drum + Bass ("MDB")

Wrote about Soundtrap some days ago and because of me not using it but only going through it fairly fast was under the impression that it came with no effects that is wrong... It also comes with a lot of presets to the effects to guide the user. Above as you probably figured out already is an image of the effects available... A small mention but want to share in either case and there is all the official videos presented in the post. Now it is time for me to go work on at my new Phonopaper painting that takes things to a conceptual level.
To read the post go here: http://www.creativeapplications.net/android/phonopaper-for-iosandroid-graphical-sound-generator-and-writer/ Thought that it would be good to share this even if it does not have much to do with Android.
It is a website where you can convert media files from one type to another. It is so far as can be told all inclusive of all the popular formats and more. Not any sign up or weird publicity etc. Used it now some times to convert some different ebook files to PDF and it works very good. So it is a good thing to bookmark and access over a device as needed or do not have a converter installed on your computah. To go and check it out: http://www.online-convert.com/ This is not too exciting but today will start a new PhonoPaper painting, taking it to the next level! Hope to share it in the beginning of next week. This is a soundtrack to a game called MEGABRICKS and is made entirely in Pixitracker 1 Bit. It is truly gritty sounding of course but the music is not and it is interesting to hear how far a person can take the concept of such a sound that is almost the lowest digital audio quality you can get and make a whole album. It would be fun to lower the HZ to the limit, breaking the sound up even further and see what you can get away with! In either case it is an impressive feat and specially as it is made without any effects or modulations just pure 1 Bit samples. The soundtrack is for free and comes with the project files. Just like Audiotool another online Daw that sometimes gets mentioned it does not have anything directly to do with Android but it is possible to use over your device if you have good internet connections and use Chrome as your web browser. So the business model is that you are limited to how many numbers of projects that you can have going and strangely enough in number of drum kits... There is a free subscription though where there is five projects available to work on. It does not come with much in form of sound generators. So far there is only one basic synthesizer and audio loops available! Coming with a number of effects though. But the strength of the application is the possibility to record audio tracks and have direct collaborations. So for bands that live far apart to compose or start collaborations with other people signed up it is great but like said not really with virtual instruments. To mention to is that everything is stored in the cloud so you can jump from device to desktop etc. Soundtrap are part of this video from Google I/O 2014 as can be seen here: Here is a video demonstrating the live recording in action: Picture of the effects available.
The Caustic users win first prize in being the most active in any forum maybe not in posting and helping each other out and sharing music but as the most collaborative and sharing of music files. Here is one example of mniip doing the original and AngledSocks doing a remix. This happening right over the forum as you can upload files song files directly in the forum which does not happen on many or no other forum. This is of course have a lot to do with that Caustic is all inclusive and do not use any third-party software making it easy to share files and getting one file with everything included. Sometimes have to wonder what would happen if SunVox had a dedicated webmaster ( Mike you are doing a more than excellent work ) like the Caustic website have. If you read the information that is out there on the ANS synthesizer this will not bring anything new to the table. But it is cool that they talk about it:
http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/history-soviet-synth-ans Plus that they mention some other earlier experiments with sound from image that was used in film and it has been my intention to write about that subject for some time but... blame the summer and lack of focus! If you want to read more and have good links to more information plus also talking about the Virtual ANS app please go here: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2013/10/ans-amazing-eerie-russian-optical-synth-now-ios-links-links-vids/ Play Store link: Virtual ANS |
