Would warn you that IK Multimedia do put a lot of publicity in their paid products as well...
Do not know if this is the case when it comes to these two but probably.
One review is of the reading kind:
This must be excellent for some musicians, not to have to worry about cables being in the way.

Be aware that some of iK Multimedias apps are poop-up heavy (paid and free versions) but as it is for free to try the basic version you can see if it is too much or not...
Seems to be a good investment for anyone doing broadcasts.
Just need to say that do not get iRIG recorder though as the last time I used it I got four poop up ads and this in the paid version! Which is great when you start to record an interview or similar!
Maybe Wavepad instead. Pretty flexible with a lot of interesting options for manipulating audio. And best of all no pop up ads...
Official release notes:
iRig Mic Lav — Broadcast audio goes mobile!
The lavalier mic that delivers pro quality audio, plus the ability to monitor and use 2 mics to record on 1 mobile device
Love to do web, film, television or other broadcasting types of recording? With iRig Mic Lav you can capture broadcast quality audio anywhere, any time and on any mobile device. iRig Mic Lav is an ultra-affordable, chainable mobile lavalier microphone for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android. It features an omnidirectional condenser capsule for crystal clear audio, on-board headphone monitoring output for monitoring live stream or recording levels, secure mounting clip, generous cable length and durable roadworthy design.
Chainable — Double the flexibility
What truly sets iRig Mic Lav apart is the ability to use two of them with one device to record two audio sources simultaneously, no additional hardware needed. The iRig Mic Lav features an 1/8" TRRS output that can be toggled to an input for monitoring or used to connect a second iRig Mic Lav. Users can simply set the toggle switch to “input,” and then plug a second iRig Mic Lav in to record with two microphones.
Capturing great audio in the field requires more than just superior microphone technology. To get the best sound, you have to be able to monitor your source as its being recorded. Not all lavalier microphones come with on-board monitoring, but iRig Mic Lav does. In fact, among major brands, it's the first mobile lavalier microphone to offer this feature. It comes with a combo 1/8" TRRS port that can be used to output audio to your favorite pair of headphones. Just set the toggle switch next to the port to "monitor" and plug in your headphones, and you'll be on your way to recording effortlessly amazing audio. To monitor a dual iRig Mic Lav setup, you just need to set the switch on the second iRig Mic Lav’s jack to “monitor,” and then plug in your headphones.
One thing about doing fieldwork is that you never know what device you'll have on you at any given time. This could be a problem if a microphone is specifically made for one type of device. Fortunately, with the iRig Mic Lav that issue is a thing of the past. It features an analog 1/8" TRRS jack that captures the same high-quality audio, whether it's plugged into an iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Pricing and availability
The iRig Mic Lav is available now at the IK online store, or music and electronics retailers worldwide for the low price of $/€49.99 (excluding taxes). The iRig Mic Lav 2 Pack, a bundle that comes with two iRig Mic Lavs, is available for preorder for just $/€79.99 and will ship early November.
Hey what about that image of the selfie stick and sunny enthusiasm!
So the representative of IK Multimedia have said that these Keyboard apps do not contain any poop-up ads...

For more information:
This could be a nice option if thinking about investing some money on a little bit more serious microphone as it can also be used for PC/MAC.
Having said that the iK Multimedias apps for Android does come with pop up ads even for the paid versions!
The iRig recorder app that I have comes with two poop up ads every time I open it. Also manages to it in the most annoying way possible. Just when about to press record the pop up comes right in the middle of the record button! A little bit later comes the second pop up!
This is a big pity as of the recording apps that I tried I do like this one the best but alas do not use it because I hate publicity and specially when it also costs money.
Understand more or less if there is a little bit of publicity when there is a new product and it happens once. But this just turns me off buying any of their products and so they have succeeded in making me dislike iK Multimedia as a company... even have been thinking about not writing about their products anymore but that would not be fair as maybe there is people that like to pay for publicity and when it comes to the hardware it does not really matter except by buying their products it is also supporting their practices...
Have mentioned this sometimes already but now it is finally out. It looks like a good thing.
But somehow I kind of do not like to buy things from IK Multimedia because of their aggressive publicity which they are famous for... I did pay for their recording application (around eight euros) and get two pop up ads every time I use it! I think that as a company they have done a lot to push music making on Android forward it is a pity that they have to shit all over it with publicity!
Maybe they by some accident have not put poop up ads in their amplitube app?
In either case the hardware should be ad free and if I had some extra money would not mind having one of these...
(How about that for passive aggressive... ha ha)
Here is a video from Sweetwater sound demonstrating the interface.
So IK Multimedia will release a interface for Android that will work on Android 4,2 or over and Amplitube will be for free with some amplifiers etc in combination with the interface called
iRig UA. The release is set for May but it is possible to test the Amplitube with demo riffs as can be seen in one of the videos below.
Here is the Play Store info:
Your guitar tone on your Android phone - A complete professional guitar & bass multi-effects processor for all Android smartphone and tablet devicesAmpliTube UA is the revolutionary free companion app to iRig UA. It lets you turn any Android device* into the ultimate mobile guitar and bass multi-effects processor. With it, you can enjoy the high-quality sonic sculpting flexibility that’s made AmpliTube the go-to app for mobile musicians. Now you can finally harness the power of AmpliTube’s massive and expandable collection of ultra-realistic virtual amplifiers, stompbox effects, cabinets and more on your Android phone, no matter what make or model it is.
AmpliTube UA is a free and comes with a complete assortment of meticulously recreated virtual versions of some of the most coveted gear on the planet. It comes with 21 pieces of gear (free for iRig UA users), that can be expanded up to 43 by in app purchases. You get 9 effects: Noise Filter, Delay, Overdrive, Wah, Chorus, Flanger, Phazer and Octave (plus Distortion upon registration). You can then use these stomps with 5 amplifiers with matching cabinets: Lead, Clean, Bass, Crunch and Metal. You even get two microphones (dynamic and condenser) that you can use to virtually position and mike your setup. In other words, it gives you everything you need to create killer tone no matter whether you’re looking to shred like Slash and Jimi Hendrix™ or play more mellow jazz, country or folk — the possibilities are limitless. And, as if that wasn’t enough, you can also expand AmpliTube UA with a-la-carte gear and bundles from world-class brands like Fender®, Orange®, Ampeg®, Soldano® and more. There’s also exclusive content available from our AmpliTube Slash and AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ collections.
To get the most out of AmpliTube UA, you need to pair it with an iRig UA digital audio interface. Combined, the two give musicians the power to play in real-time with no audible device processing delay, a market first for the Android platform.iRig UA’s on-board digital signal processor works in conjunction with AmpliTube UA. And because all of the processing is handled by iRig UA, and not on the Android device, it’s able to provide consistent zero latency performance (down to 2ms round-trip total latency) independent of the make and model of the connected smartphone or tablet.
You can use AmpliTube UA functions in a “preview” mode when an iRig UA is not connected to the device. This allows full use of its generous collection of amplifiers, stompboxes, cabinets and microphones with the provided “dry” audio demo. However, an iRig UA is required for audio-in and guitar processing functionality.
• First real time guitar and bass mobile multi-effects app for all Android devices
• Zero latency processing on any Android device* when paired with iRig UA
• Full rig with 3 simultaneous stomp boxes, an amp with effects, a cabinet and a mic
• Comes with 9 stompbox effects, 5 amplifiers, 5 cabinets and 2 mics
• Gear library can be expanded with branded gear from Fender, Orange, Ampeg, Soldano and more
• Enhanced presets system
• Chromatic tuner included
• Can be used without iRig UA in a fully functional mode that does not allow audio-in (a dry audio demo is provided for playing purposes)
This is compatible with Android 5 devices ( with varying latency depending on device ) and with no or almost no latency on the Samsung Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy Edge, Galaxy S5 and it does look like a good thing as it is not too expensive- 39.95$.
They recommend the iRIG recorder and here I can take a moment and complain as I did on their forum but to no avail... I did buy the iRIG recorder app and it has pop up ads every time you record with it so maybe stay clear of it unless you want to be annoyed out of your mind!
Please IK multimedia stop it!
Or at least let people now before paying for the app that it will contain constant publicity!
Here is the press release:
The universal mobile guitar interface Just like its predecessor, the new iRig 2 plugs directly into the mini jack input of a mobile device. It lets musicians send an instrument signal to apps, such as IK's AmpliTube, while also providing on-board output for real-time monitoring.
iRig 2 now comes with gain control, which lets users precisely adjust the input gain of their instrument to match their mobile device.
This means that it can be customized to always provide the best sound, no matter what type of guitar, bass or line-level instrument or device is used. In other words, iRig 2 sounds just as good connecting a wailing humbucker electric guitar to an iPhone 6 as it does a jazzy archtop or mellow electric piano to a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
iRig 2 now not only works with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac, but that it also supports the complete line of new Samsung Professional Audio devices. Using the Android version of AmpliTube, iRig 2 is fully compatible with Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy Edge, Galaxy S5 and also the forthcoming S6. Plus iRig 2 now also offers compatibility with Android 5 devices. As the most convenient way to bring a guitar signal into a mobile device, it lets musicians use the hundreds of available tuning and recording apps available, such as the forthcoming UltraTuner for Android.
Live flexibility and integration When it comes to playing live on stage or with a band,
iRig 2 provides multiple new features that offer even more flexibility and integration than before. Its new 1/4" amplifier output, in addition to its traditional 1/8" headphone output, allows iRig 2 to be plugged directly into a guitar amplifier or powered speakers without an adaptor. This helps to keep all cable connections tidy and organized.
A new FX/THRU switch allows iRig 2 to send either a wet or dry signal through the device. This means that guitarists can play live with an amplifier and use their mobile device with a tuner app, such as IK's UltraTuner, or a recording app, such as IK's iRig Recorder, to record a dry signal for further processing. iRig 2 also comes with a clip and a velcro strip so it can be firmly installed on a microphone stand, avoiding accidental disconnection.
Apps galore iRig 2 is ready to go right out of the box.
It comes with a powerful cross-platform suite of apps and software that includes free versions of AmpliTube for iOS, Mac and Android Samsung Pro Audio. Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge owners will receive AmpliTube LE for Samsung Pro Audio as a complementary download courtesy of the included Galaxy Gifts app bundle that comes with their mobile device.
And while iRig 2 is made to pair with AmpliTube, it's also compatible with many other mobile music creation apps and utilities, such as Apple's GarageBand, Samsung's Soundcamp and literally thousands of others.
Hey this is great if you need high quality recordings and have some cash laying around as it is not cheap but that is relative as these types of microphones easily can get up over the hundreds!
The good news is that you can use it with the desktop as well so if you are looking for a condenser microphone for the desktop this could be something to look into as it would be for your USB OTG devices as well...
Here is the official publicity:
Make professional studio-quality recordings on the go
Introducing iRig Mic Studio, IK Multimedia’s ultra-portable large-diaphragm digital condenser microphone for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC and Android. It packs a 1” diameter condenser capsule into an ultra-compact enclosure that can be used to make professional-quality recordings anywhere. Great for musicians, vocalists, home producers, podcasters, broadcasters, voice-over artists and more, it puts the superior power of a large-diaphragm microphone into the palm of your hand.
Big sound, small size
What’s remarkable about iRig Mic Studio is that it offers its truly amazing recording quality in an enclosure that’s smaller than an iPhone. It features a large 1” diameter back electret condenser capsule, a 24-bit audiophile-grade A/D converter (with 44.1/48 kHz sample rate) and a built-in low-noise high-definition preamp. These, combined with its 133dB SPL rating, allow for optimal recording at any sound pressure level — it can capture everything from the subtle and nuanced dynamics of the human voice to the full-on bombast of an amplified electric guitar, and everything in between.
A full suite of controls
To ensure you'll always record at your best, iRig Mic Studio comes with a full set of flexible controls: It has a gain control knob and a multi color LED level indicator. It also includes a headphone output with its own level control for onboard monitoring directly from iRig Mic Studio itself. And, for better positioning while recording, iRig Mic Studio comes with a sturdy and portable tabletop tripod stand.
All this is to say that iRig Mic Studio is equipped with everything you need to capture the highest quality sound no matter whether you're at home in the studio or recording while on the go.
It’s all about the connections
iRig Mic Studio is compatible with all your favorite mobile and desktop platforms. It comes with a female micro-USB port and an assortment of cables: Micro-USB to Lightning for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; micro-USB to micro-USB OTG for Android (requires either an Android 5 or Samsung Professional Audio device); and micro-USB to USB for Mac and PC. A micro-USB to 30-pin cable is available separately for older iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.
Record with the power of apps
For immediate recording, iRig Mic Studio comes equipped with a powerful suite of vocal apps that match its cross-platform compatibility. iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users will be able to enjoy VocaLive, a powerful effects processor and multi-track recording app that features a selection of 12 professional real-time vocal effects. EZ Voice for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and EZ Voice for Android are streamlined and easy-to-use sing-along apps that make it easy for vocalists to practice with any song in their music library. iRig Recorder for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and iRig Recorder for Android are straightforward apps for field recording, podcasting, note taking and more.
If you want to record guitar or other electric instruments this could be worth taking a look at as it would allow for cleaner recordings but be aware that the latency could be a problem if you are not using Lollipop / Google Nexus devices / Samsung latest models with their solution of latency...
Here is what IK Multimedia is saying:
Announcing iRig 2, the sequel to our groundbreaking and best-selling iRig guitar interface. iRig 2 builds on the design that made its predecessor so popular. It pairs great sound and streamlined convenience with new updated features like versatile input gain control, a ¼” amplifier output jack and Android compatibility. iRig 2 makes for a versatile tool that’s perfect for practice sessions, live performances, jamming with friends, recording and more.
Now everyone can plug in their guitar or bass to enjoy killer tone on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Android device — with the release of iRig 2, the world’s most popular guitar interface is better than ever before.
The biggest update that iRig 2 brings is its new ¼” amplifier output. This augments its 1/8” headphone output by allowing musicians to use iRig 2 and their mobile device along with their favorite amplifier, without the use of an adaptor. This opens up a whole world of opportunities when paired with AmpliTube, IK's powerful guitar and bass multi-effects processor. iRig 2 now lets musicians easily use AmpliTube’s vast library of meticulously modeled virtual stompbox effects, amplifiers and other gear as a part of their physical rig.
iRig 2’s added switch allows dual-mode operation: FX lets musicians send to the Amp ¼” output a processed signal from apps like AmpliTube. THRU sends a clean signal, letting musicians use their mobile device as a tuner, recorder or other utility, while using their classic analog rig keeping the pureness of a 100% analog signal path.
Made for both practice and performance, iRig 2 comes with a removable support that together with a velrco strip allow easily mounting iRig 2 on any mic or music stand, making iRig 2 perfectly at home on live performances as well.
Plug and play simplicity on every device
iRig 2 has been made to be compatible with the widest range of instruments and mobile devices possible. Its built-in universal 1/8" TRRS output connector provides a true plug-and-play experience on iPhone, iPod touch, Mac and Android. Likewise, its 1/4" instrument input works with any guitar, bass or line-level instrument. To ensure the best sound quality, iRig 2 comes with an input gain thumbwheel that allows musicians to dial in the perfect setting for their setup — iRig 2 works just as well when its connecting a wailing 3 humbucker electric guitar to a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as it does a jazzy archtop or mellow electric piano to an iPhone 6.
Killer guitar tone on Android
iRig 2 is now widely compatible with Android smartphones and tablets. Its 1/8” output connector is compatible with many popular Android devices produced by manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC and more — any device with 1/8” input that supports the CTIA/AHJ wiring standard works with iRig 2.
Additionally, users with Android devices that support Samsung Professional Audio can enjoy AmpliTube for Android, a special version of the popular multi-effects processor that brings a full spread of meticulously modeled virtual gear to the Android platform.
A full suite of apps
iRig 2 is ready to go right out of the box. It comes with a powerful cross-platform suite of apps and software that includes free versions of AmpliTube for iOS, Android and Mac/PC. And while iRig 2 is the ideal companion to AmpliTube, it also works with any other recording, processing, tuning or music app.
Pricing and availability
The new iRig 2 interface will be available in Q1 2015 via the IK Online Store and select music and consumer electronics retailers worldwide for $39.99/€29.99 (excl. taxes).
Guess this would be a usb audio interface...
Outside of bringing some serious music apps to Android the second good news is that it is supposed to work on Android 4.0 and up!
Having pioneered low-latency digital audio interfacing and processing on select Android Samsung Professional Audio devices with iRig HD-A,AmpliTube, iRig MIC HD-A and EZ Voice, IK Multimedia will present a breakthrough universal solution that provides near zero latency and real-time audio processing on a wide assortment of Android devices (running Android 4.0 or higher and compatible with USB host mode/OTG mode) at NAMM 2015.
Despite representing over 80% market share of mobile devices in circulation, Android smartphones and tablets have not established themselves as a reliable music creation platform. This is due to factors like the OS’s performance, which is not suitable for real-time processing, and the fragmentation of the platform across dozens of manufacturers and carriers.
Even with the addition of standard USB Audio I/O in the recent release of Android 5.0, the platform still lacks the ability to perform rock solid real time ultra low latency audio processing.
IK Multimedia has solved this problem with a paradigm shift of a universal solution that delivers astonishing near zero latency performance (down to 2 ms round-trip total latency) on every Android device running Android 4.0 or higher and that supports USB host mode/OTG mode independently from the device manufacturer.
This solution will be made available to the hundreds of millions of devices in circulation from manufacturers like Samsung, Google, Motorola, LG, HTC, Xiaomi and more. Finally, the capability for using the Android platform for serious music making and performance has arrived.
Try it for yourself and visit IK Booth #6520 at the 2015 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California during January 22-25, or visit our site and social channels for more information released during the show.
So things are moving along!
This is the official IK Multimedia publicity regarding their contribution to the Samsung low latency solution on the later Samsung models. It seems that Soundcamp is not released yet but the good news is that it seems that Soundcamp is going to be free! So that is great news if you have the right device.
IK is proud to announce a new breakthrough in mobile music creation, the first professional guitar processing app and digital interface available for Android. AmpliTube and iRig HD-A are now available for the latest Samsung devices running Samsung Professional Audio, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and more. Now Samsung users will be able to connect their guitar or bass to their Android™ device and play with the sound of the most sought after amplifiers and effects from their smartphone, anytime and everywhere!
Guitar tone on a smartphone
AmpliTube is the most popular multi-effects app for mobile guitarists and bass players. It simulates the full amplification and effects chain used by musicians to perform both live and in the studio. The new AmpliTube app for Samsung Professional Audio sports a full guitar rig made of up to 3 stompbox effects, an amplifier, a speaker cabinet and a microphone.
It comes with up to 11 stompbox effects, 5 amplifiers with 5 cabinets and 2 microphones. This lets players emulate virtually any guitar tone, from clean to crunch to metal and everything in between - the entire sonic palette is covered, satisfying the needs of even the most demanding musicians.
The app also offers 15 easy to save and recall presets and a digital tuner. It has everything that's needed for guitarists and bass players to play, practice or perform with their new Samsung devices. The app comes in 3 flavors: full, free and LE, with the difference being the number of effects and amps included. The AmpliTube LE version is part of the Galaxy Gifts app bundle that comes as a complimentary download for Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge users* (a $9.99 gift).
*Available in most countries. Check local Samsung website for availability.
Plug and play
And now Samsung users can connect their guitar or bass to their smartphone with the new iRig HD-A. It's the first digital guitar interface for Android that allows plug-and-play connectivity and the highest possible sound quality. Featuring a high-definition 24-bit/48kHz A/D converter, it offers a direct high-impedance input for guitars or other instruments and a direct connection to the device via the included OTG cable (an additional USB cable is also available for use with PC).
The input signal can be regulated using the onboard gain potentiometer, while a multicolor LED displays the optimal signal level. The processed sound can be monitored from the regular mini jack output of the device through headphones or speakers.
Along with the iRig HD-A, users can also choose from IK's range of analog interfaces, like the iRig guitar interface adapter or the iRig Stomp pedal interface. Both use the mini jack for the input/output connection with the device. Now mobile guitarists and bass players have many options that suit a wide variety of needs, applications and budgets.
Real time audio processing on Android
Previously not possible on Android devices, the AmpliTube app is now available thanks to the new Samsung Professional Audio system. Available on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge - and soon to be available on the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 and other devices - this system allows users to process audio in real time without perceptible latency. Now Android can support AmpliTube, which means musicians can enjoy real time effects and instrument processing anytime and everywhere.
The new Samsung Professional Audio compatible devices come with Samsung SoundCamp, a free and full-fledged music studio app that lets musicians record and compose full songs entirely within the device. The AmpliTube app can be used as a standalone application but also as a plug-in inside the new SoundCamp studio for full recording and play-along uses.
Pricing and availability
The new AmpliTube app for Android/Samsung Professional Audio is available through the Samsung Apps store for only $19.99/€17.99. Free and LE versions are also available. The AmpliTube LE version (a $9.99/€7.99 value) is complementary for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge users as a part of the Galaxy Gifts apps program.
The new iRig HD-A digital guitar interface is now available through the IK Online Store and select music and consumer electronics retailers for $99.99/€79.99. The iRig guitar interface adapter is available for $39.99/€29.99 and the iRig Stomp guitar pedal interface is available for $69.99/€44.99 (excluding taxes).
