Samara Morgan Machine - Free Cursed Sample Pack!

So this is not a big thing but thought that it could be interesting to share anyway as it is Halloween. Have been obsessing about the character Samara Morgan from the first american "The Ring" film since it got imprinted on my mind twelve years ago.
Liked it so much that have not seen it since, as it should live on untainted in my memory bank forever and be a constant source of inspiration.
In either case was working on some sounds the other day for a song called "Samaras Moon Box" and using the Android app "Flux" through some effects this came out and a lot of the sounds have the same character as Samaras voice.
So if you dare, load them up, take some mushrooms, turn of all the lights and whisper her name.
Then there is seven days to unload the samples unto someone else (as I am doing now...) or death will for certain occur!

Amdusias Dreaming Reverse by MoonooM

This is a remake of the song I submitted for the SunVox Compo.
The remake is more or less changing the two main parts from beginning to end and there is also added effects in Reaper (DAW).
Otherwise all sounds are made with SunVox synthesis outside of vocal samples and the bongo samples.
Have a hard time to know if I like it or not as it is too much things/ too compact plus that my obsession with bass is maybe not too healthy sometimes but it is also possible that I hear it in half a year and get surprised.
One thing is for sure that it is not a music that is easily classifiable!

Amdusias Cruising - Music video made with Mobile phone

By Cosmo Koroly

So the music is made by Frank Malm under the guise of Subliminal Moon and I wanted to do a test to see the quality using a mobile phone for filming. The video has some things to be desired but there is some parts that I think came out pretty successful. Also learned a lot specially what kind of lights would be more effective. There was two mobile used one Samsung Galaxy S3 and one Samsung S6. The S6 comes into play in the end of the video and feels that it is more digital but I think it has to do with that on the other mobile the ASA is set to 800 and gives a grainier look and to me looks more organic. There was no special lights used and it does look good under low lightning and feels better than the parts with more full on lights.
All the filming was done in just a little bit more than one hour as it was late wanting to film when it was dark outside. The children wanted to eat...
But that was great as it was another thing to see what can be accomplished under such conditions. Because if this is the result being rushed it can get very good if there is some time to plan the shots and rig the lightning better and in general plan everything more.
Need to point out though that it is edited in a desktop as do not want to torture myself editing on a small screen with too many limitations.
Maybe worth mentioning to that everything was filmed with hand held camera and with still shots as one thing that mobiles are not so good at is to have faster movements.
The movement can in part be added in the editing afterwards. It is just something to have in mind.
Frank is working on a new track and we will do another short film with mobiles but this time put in some more effort!

P.S- The music is composed in Caustic without effects and mixed in Reaper.

Okay so posted this track a week ago but did not follow the last rule of mixing.
Before letting go let your ears rest a couple of days and do not be so impatient! ha ha
So have remixed and changed some thing in the track and feel that it improved a lot.
Composed totally dry without effects in Caustic and using only synthesizers and single
drum hits. Exported into Reaper where effects got added.

Musical Android selling it's first sample pack - a "rusty" piano

12/12/2013

So here is my second small step to get some kind of income doing this website.
The first being to ask for donations.
So this second step is to start a small merchandise section where there will be some different things but first of all there will be some sample packs. The first one is a piano that sounds... let me put it like this it has a lot of character. The last two summers have spent some time with friends and families up north in Spain in the house we have been staying at they have a piano that sounds so out of tune that it is hard to imagine how out of tune it is. Okay in the sample pack I have tuned it so it can fit with music being made and the recording is made with a very good field recorder.
My idea from the beginning was not to use it for a sample pack but to use it in a piece of music that will be written for a short film, having the music start with a clean good sounding piano but slowly switching the notes out to more and more degraded piano sounds. Having listened to it and starting to work with the sounds thought that it is so frequency rich and interesting with warts and all that it can be useful for all sorts of sonic adventures that I decided to do a series of instruments based on these same samples. Not only to see how far you can take the sound but also to in the end have a series of instruments coming from the same source. Wanting to find out how well they would gel together when they are used in combinations in the same piece of music.Have the second sample instrument almost ready and think that it is already a fascinating start.

The range is 4 octaves of separate samples starting at the E note to four octave up at D# in 24 bit 44.1 hz.
If you are interested in buying this sample instrument including already made instruments for SunVox and Caustic and the single shot samples please specify Rusty piano in the Pay pal order and you can use the buy button for PayPal on the side of the website.
Asking only donation for this excellently, ugly and interesting piano.
Plus your email address and I will send you a download link. Will never ever use your email for anything else!!!
So please donate something so my daughter get more to eat than an old banana this christmas!
And not only saving my daughter from starvation but also get a piano to play with!
There is a video I made with a short piece of music to it so you can get and idea...
If the video is loading badly (it is in high definition) there is also just the soundfile.
The music has been made with probably too much bass for the style of music but that is the way I roll.
Otherwise it is an interesting mixture of sources...
Caustic 3 as the main application:
Modular synth, 8 Bit synth and the sampler that was loaded with recordings / instrument from of course the piano, my girlfriend going ahhhhh, Burroughs saying twilights last gleaming and the two Android instruments, Droiditar and one of these horrible publicity laden apps that sucks except that I love the artificiality and organic vibe in this one- Choir piano.
