It skyrocketed with version 3.0 and now there is some fantastic icing on the cake with this update 3.1.
The update look a little bit innocent on paper but just what becomes possible with new Modular module that lets you route any sound module through the modular and then think about the sample manipulations that becomes possible!
Another great thing is that if you use a midi controller you can assign any parameter of the different modules easily to any knob. Even on the modular.
I can still not get over that you can automate any parameter in the modular since it came out but now recordable directly from a midi controller.
Yes a new synthesizer module making all kinds of strings sounds. More of the plucked variety though.
As you may have seen through the last month or so that people have started to make skins for Caustic and you can make your own but it is also very easy to change to a skin that someone else made and the update comes with an assortment of great skins already and you can check out more on the Caustic forum. Hey in some months there is going to be a wide variety available. It is great to be able to personalize or use different configurations depending on what environment you are in.
Great "hidden" feature to for all Chiptune lovers... (check video). This together with the 8-Bit synth module makes Caustic a fantastic application to make Chiptune music with.
Do not have to speak more as everything is covered in the videos and it is soooo exciting to see how Caustic has developed into this monster of an application this last half year.
It is scary to think what will happen next upgrade!
So time to make some popcorn and settle down to see these videos...
It is also funny how he downplay this new sound module as something small
but think it is a very nice addition especially if you want to get your Chiptune groove on!
Like almost everything in Caustic just this sound module could be a separate very good application in itself.
