is made by the same developer oxxxide as Common FM Synthesizer
and has the same graphical interface and the same minimum of essential controls
for coaxing out the maximum variety of sound.
Which it don't succeed with,
It can sound slightly more analogue than Common Fm,
but to be honest it is still sounding more digital than analogue.
Which in no way makes it bad-
Just that if the goal was to make an analog sounding synth...
In either case analog or not,
you can tell that the developer have put in a lot of thought into what controls to put in
and with two choices that is not to common in analog synthesizers of this size-
first there is no sine wave for the LFO, just triangle and saw wave.
Then he included a x-modulator
( makes both oscillators modulate each other instead of one modulating the other )
which is in comparison to the choice of not including LFO sine
is an interesting plus and probably like the carefully thought out design
seems to suggest being the personal choice of the creator for his own sound design and music.
The sound has in many cases a muted feeling to it
so to use it, it is recommended to maybe add some presence
through Eq / Exciter and as soon you do it,
you will have a pretty good free synthesizer that has
enough controls to create a wide variety of sounds from it,
though maybe less than it's sibling.
Some thing else that is has going for it is that if you are new to
subtractive synthesis it is a perfect synth to learn it
as it is clearly laid out and has just enough controls to be
exciting but without complicating things.
Another thing to mention is that it has low latency
which makes it responsive enough to be able to use for live playing and direct recording,
it also means that it would be very nice if it came with midi capabilities...
You should get it and Common FM
both being some of the nicer synths you can get for Android
and if you take your time you will be programming all kinds of usable presets
to molest your audience with.
Wait,
forgot to tell you it is for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
