It will still be a while and does look much better than the current version...
This is what is said on the Imageline forum-
We'd like to let you know that we are deep into development of FL Studio Mobile 3, why it's taken so long and why it's going to be radically different from FL Studio Mobile 2.
Too slow our bad!
We know that we have let our customers down on the delivery of FL Studio Mobile Android features coming into line with iOS. We expected this to be completed about 12 months ago, but the development platform proved to be more complex and slower than anticipated. In turn, this slowed down iOS development and it got to the point we decided to start over and completely re-write FL Studio Mobile. This is a ground up re-write, on a new development platform using our own custom framework developed for Groove Machine Mobile.
Starting again meant we took the logical step of incorporating many features and changes that have been suggested by customers over the last 3 or so years and doing things differently.
What's going to change?
FL Studio Mobile 3 will not simply be an update of FL Studio Mobile 2. It's a completely new application and includes a new GUI, internal architecture and more advanced features, as you would expect on a desktop DAW.
What formats are going to be supported
Android, iOS, Windows App, Windows Phone, FL Studio Plugin, VST/AU Plugin (to be decided)...and more if we decide to. The point is, that we are able to compile for just about any OS needed, from the same source code, something that was not possible with FL Studio Mobile 2.
FL Studio Mobile 3 works as a FL Studio plugin. The plugin version is is 100% identical to the mobile version, it's the same code just ported to a plugin. This allows you to start projects on the desktop and move to your mobile device and back again. No translation of projects will be necessary, you are running the same app on in FL Studio as you run on your mobile device.
Mobile 2 vs 3 Compatibility
FL Studio Mobile 2 projects will load in FL Studio Mobile 3 however we can't guarantee 100% identical sound. Yes, FL Studio Mobile 3 will have MiniSynth (plus more, which is the point) and it will be able to load the same sample libraries, but the effects architecture is different, so this may result in some minor changes to the sound of projects made in FL Studio Mobile 2. See below...
Project structure
Each Playlist track (midi data) drives a unique chain of instrument and FX plugins. You can have any number of instruments and FX per track. The only limit is your CPU power. There are also automation tracks that can be edited just as you can now in FL Studio.
There are Step-sequencer sampler instruments, a multisample player instrument, synthesizer plugins (such as MiniSynth), and multiple effects plugins.
When will it be ready?
This time, from day one, all formats Android, iOS, Windows App and FL Plugin will have the same feature set. We plan to start alpha/beta testing within the next few months (this is not a promise, but a plan). In other words the Application is under heavy development as mentioned above. We have been working on this for some time, and it's one reason seemingly so little has been happening.

Yes we will be adding more synths, the plan, at the moment, is to have 3 (MiniSynth plus another two covering FM and something else).
