To have a some kind of audio interface is more or less a must if you are going to do any recordings and find that having a audio interface that can be connected to many different operating systems attractive. The small one is 149$ and the bigger more guitar oriented GuitarJack Stage is 299$. Both of them so far only confirmed to work on the later Samsung Devices...
But I must remind you that there is a lot of Audio interfaces that works with Audio Evolution Mobile and think that there is a lot of them working on n-Track Studio as well and not being limited to Samsung or the later Android versions.
I use a basic m-Audio audio interface perfectly with Android 4.3 and Audio Evolution.
