Good news.
This interesting rhythm slicer / effect / mixer upper is coming to Android before the year is over. It already exists for iOS and is based on a collaboration between one of the members of the band Yello that has now been around for since the early eighties, a man called Hâkan Lidbo and the magazine / website (and other enterprises involving electronic music) Electronic Beats.
Will post a bunch of videos here but the think that it is interesting to look at the last two videos with two hits they produced in the eighties and for me it was interesting to actually hear the application in action and hear their songs as it feels like it is not that the member of Yello is not only an add on but that his influence can be heard as the music and rhythms that gets created with the application sounds like something that could have been recorded by Yello.
That said there is some stress in the promotion of the app regarding how easy it is to create full tracks and it does not convince me but to slice and arrange and use the effects in creative ways and have fodder for your sampler applications it is something that I look forward to, as it is always good to be able to roll your own beats with your own recordings to introduce some organic feel to your music.
Or take melodic material and just go find something new in an interesting glitched out way.
Maybe even take a listen to Yello and do what they have been doing with samples since the eighties.
So here is some videos:
